Core Pillars of Blue Justice and Equitable Access

  1. Recognitional Justice: Acknowledges the traditional rights, diverse identities, and local knowledge of small-scale fishers and Indigenous groups.

  2. Procedural Justice: Promotes inclusive participation in decision-making processes, ensuring local voices influence marine spatial planning and coastal development.

  3. Distributive Justice: Focuses on the fair distribution of benefits and burdens, ensuring that coastal communities are not marginalized by the development of tourism, energy, or industrial fishing.

  4. Restorative Justice: Seeks to address historical injustices, ocean grabbing, and displacement.
